Turnover in industry rises 18.4pct in first half

The turnover in industry rose in the first half of the year by 18.4 percent compared to H1, 2010 due to growths in the processing industry (+19.1 percent) and mining (+4.1 percent), informs the National Institute of Statistics (INS). 

By main industrial groups, turnover increases were recorded in all sectors: intermediate goods (+27.1 percent), energy industry (+26.4 percent), capital goods (+17.4 percent) consumer goods industry (+6.8 percent) and durable goods industry (+5.8 percent). 

According to INS, turnover in industry increased in June as compared to May per total industry with 2 percent because of increases in the extraction industry (+2.6 percent) and in manufacturing (+2.0 percent). By main industrial groups, turnover increases were recorded in the following sectors: consumer goods industry (+7.5 percent), intermediate goods (+0.7 percent), capital goods industry (+0.4 percent ) and durable goods industry (+0.2 percent). The energy industry dropped 0.7 percent. 

Also, compared to June 2010, turnover in industry increased by 9.8 percent in June as a whole, because of growths registered by processing industry (+9.9 percent) and mining (+8.0 percent) . 

By main industrial groups, turnover increases were recorded by the following sectors: energy industry (+36.1 percent), intermediate goods (+16.0 percent) and consumer goods industry (+9.8 percent). Decreases occurred in capital goods industry (-3.9 percent) and durable goods industry (-0.7 percent). 
New orders in industry increase 19.4 percent in H1 
New orders in industry in H1 of 2011, increased 19.4 percent on the whole, compared with the similar period of 2010, due to the enhancements registered in all industrial groups, informs the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Therefore, in H1 growth was witnessed in the intermediary goods industry (26.3 percent), the durable goods industry (20.7 percent), the capital goods industry (17.1 percent) and the current goods industry (7.3 percent).In June 2011, as compared with the previous month, the new orders in industry slid 0.6 percent because of the decline registered in the durable goods industry (6.4 percent), the intermediary goods industry (2.1 percent) and the capital goods industry (0.5 percent). The current goods industry registered a 6.0 percent increase.

Moreover, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, the new orders in industry increased 2.3 percent on the whole in June, due to the growth witnessed in the intermediary goods industry (8.7 percent), the current goods industry (7.2 percent) and the durable goods industry (4.4 percent). The capital goods industry dropped 3.1 percent.
